All New Blog Look!

Hi Dandi Crafters, I have a new blog look! I was so so over the cherry and blue jay layout. I decided to give myself a new look before I jumped in and got busy with my design team again. If you have sent in an application to be on my design team or as a guest designer you should be hearing from me soon. If you haven't sent in your application and want too. You can it is not too late. Click here for the post to read about it.
So what do you think of my new blog look? I like how bright and cheery it is. I love turquoise, orange and brown together. I actually made the fun scroll as an svg file but thought oh it would look darling as a blog design element too. I finally added some top navigation. I know I had been needing that for awhile so I made sure I added. Another thing I added since I have give aways on my blog, I added numbers to post comment. That will help me. No more counting for me. You can see the cute number displays here. Other things I added a new go button for search, title highlight, new signature,post divider.
Leave some love and tell me what your favorite thing is from my makeover and you may get a new look too. I will draw 1 random comment and give them a blog make over. For blogger.com only. Includes 1 logo,1 background, blog button with code, and a signature image, and free installation of the blogger template. I will work with you on the theme you would like. Theme will not include any original character creation or complex original art. Be sure to leave an email address so I contact you. Winners will be posted on August 28. Winners will have 7 days to claim there prize. Good luck!

Cricut Green with Envi Blog Make Over

I had the chance to work with a GREAT Cricut Enthusiast Sandy from Cricut Green with Envi with a blog makeover. Although Sandy's blog name really worked for her, to convey her enthusiasm with the Cricut her previous blog theme didn't convey her excitement. I worked with Sandy to give her a look that not only conveyed her passion for the Cricut it also got her away from the generic cricut look that many turn to identify that they are fans of the cricut. I helped Sandy find a look that not only identifies her a huge Cricut enthusiast but also help her stand out from the Cricut pack. It was super getting to know Sandy while working with her. I don't think I have worked with a more generous person. Pop over to her blog Cricut Green with Envi and have a look around. I bet some of her Cricut enthusiasm will rub off on you too. LOL

How To Make a Grab Blog Button For Your Blog

I have had some request asking me how to make a blog button so here it is. I have started the basic button in case you are just comfortable with just adding your blog name to the button. If you want to use one of the buttons posted as a base just mouse over it and right click and save. If you use a button from above you can skip to step 5 or 6. Let's Get Started.

1. You will need some kind of image editing program. It doesn't matter which program. Open it up.

2. Open a new file canvas size 125x 125 pixels with a resolution of 72.

3. Pick a color for your background and flood fill the canvas with the color of your choice.

4. Add a New Layer

5. If you have clip art you would like to use place in on your button now. Not too big as you will need to be able to write your blog name on it.

6. Write your blog name in the color of your choice using the text too.

7 When you are happy with how it looks save your blog button as a gif or a jpg

8. Now upload your blog button to an image host. You can search free image host in your favorite search engine. I personally use Photobucket.

9. Once you have the blog button uploaded to your photo host you will need to get the image url. Your photo host will generate this for you.

10. Now you will need to put your image url and blog address in the code provided and put the code on your blog. If you need instructions on how to add the code to your blog, they are here.

<br />
<div align="center"> <a href="http://YOURBLORNAME.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><img src="YourBlogButtonImageUrlHere" border="0"/></a> </div> <div align="center"> <form><textarea rows="15" cols="12"><a href="http://YOURBLORNAME.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><img src="YourBlogButtonImageUrlHere" border="0"/></a></textarea></form> </div>
<br />

If you can't figure out how to make a blog button and you want one. You can purchase a blog grab, you can see examples of size and animated blog buttons here too!
