So my little princess turned 9 last weekend and we had a princess party for her. She was over the moon with her birthday party. She first wanted to have a spa birthday party. She had been to the Bippity Boppity Boutique when we were at Disney and really liked it. So I looked into it the "girls" spa they have around here. It is not a chain or anything. I went inside. They did birthday parties so to speak, but not really if you ask me. I went inside the lady gave me a price list. I asked if they did birthday parties. Yes we do. Do you have a package price. "No we don't. You just take the price of the treatment and times it by the number of girls." I was underwhelmed to say the LEAST." No extras for the bday girl, no discount, no anything. In other words they really didn't do birthday parties but your friends were welcome to go to the spa when you did. LOL After I did the math of what it would cost to take my Guppie and a couple of her friends to the spa. I decided if I did alot of work myself I could give her an AWESOME party. So that is what I did. :-) For the same money to take 3 little girls to the spa for treatment I threw a princess party for 9 girls. I made each girl a tutu to wear. Each girl got a souvenir princess tshirt with their name on it. They each got a chance to personalize their princess colors. (Most everyone choose a pink dress even though they could pick from 4 different colors. LOL) They decorated princess crowns with glitter stickers and such. They came out super cute. We played 5 games, pin the crown on the princess, pass the nail polish, princess crown trivia, pixie dust relay in teams and a door prize scratch off game. All of which the winners won a prize. Each took home a princess gift bag that was in the shape of crown which was fit for a princess. The little girls had so much fun especially my Guppie. At some time during the day, my Guppie turned to me and said "Mommy, I am glad that we didn't go to [the spa place] because if I did I wouldn't have this tutu and my princess shirt for me and all my friends. This was the best day ever!" So the birthday was a TOTAL success! Not because I spent my birthday budget dollars wisely, which I did, but because I spent my birthday budget dollars on the most smiles and giggles for my buck :-) Happy 9th Birthday Gup :-)
